Facility Preventative Maintenance Engineer

These positions are part of the Engineering department and work as part of a team to perform building maintenance and repair building facilities, including HVAC systems, electrical, and related equipment. These positions are very hands-on and require a willingness to work as part of a cohesive team. All team members are expected to keep abreast of the latest industry trends and techniques, along with safety best practices and OSHA standards. Onsite training provided for motivated candidates. 

Position Summary: Maintains HVAC systems and related equipment to ensure maximum performance 

Position Description (Italics reflect performance appraisal criteria):

·         Performs repairs, service and preventative maintenance on HVAC and electrical equipment

·         Repairs and/or replaces common area lighting as needed

·         Maintains sound operational and repair knowledge of all electrical controls relating to HVAC equipment

·         Maintains accurate records of equipment condition and effectively evaluates future equipment

·         Collaborates with a team that installs new units or replacement parts for existing units

·         Operates all HVAC and electrical systems at optimum performance levels while ensuring occupancy comfort

·         Performs all preventative maintenance to HVAC and mechanical equipment

·         Ability to troubleshoot building Pumps, Fire Safety Systems, HVAC and Electrical systems

·         Communicates with all customers and employees in a professional and courteous manner

·         Has ability to work nights and weekends as needed with varied hours and days

·         Other related duties as assigned

 

Positions Supervised:

·         None

 

Required Education:

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

·         HVAC service training  - a plus

·         Level 3 HVAC certification or HVAC license – a plus

Required Experience:

·         3-5 years of related hands-on experience

·         General Building Maintenance Experience – a plus

·         Experience working at varying levels of height

·         Experience with in-building automation and controls - a plus

·         Valid Texas Driver’s License

·         Must pass a mandatory background check

 

Physical Requirements:

·         Stand, walk, or climb ladder/stairs for majority of work shift

·         Work outside in weather elements up to 25% of the time

·         Ability to work on a scissor lift or boom lift at heights up to 75 feet

·         Ability to push, pull, and lift 50 lbs

·         Ability to work in confined spaces

·         Ability to stand, squat, and sit for extended periods of time in all types of weather and climate conditions

·         Ability to wear and work in various types of Personal Protection Devices and Equipment (OSHA Standards)
